Introduction

There are many funding organisations around Hawke's Bay that support charitable organisations in their efforts to work with and strengthen our communities. Each funding organisation has its own strategies and directions; however, the charitable sector and wider Hawke's Bay region would benefit from improved connection and coordination among these funders.

To achieve this stronger and more connected sector, the Hawke's Bay Funders Forum was established in 2007.

Purpose of the Hawke's Bay Funders Forum

The intentions of the Hawke's Bay Funders Forum ("the Forum") are to:

  • Strengthen trust, communication and knowledge-sharing between charitable funders and other parties involved in the sector.
  • Provide an opportunity to discuss developments in the sector at strategic and operational levels.
  • Provide an opportunity to discuss significant community projects in Hawke's Bay, enabling Forum members (individually or jointly) to collaboratively initiate or contribute to projects where appropriate.
  • To allow Forum participants to identify and discuss key regional issues, trends, and opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of relevant policy and changes to policy of individual funders
